‘THE FINALS’ raises the bar: boom of participants in the highlight of the Rental by TBKART season!

News

The weekend of 13-14 July handed TBKART and IRK Promotion, the new group set up to expand the Italian manufacturer’s Rental business, another organisational success. The South Milano track in Ottobiano welcomed the more than 100 drivers who competed in ‘THE FINAL Endurance’ and ‘THE FINAL Sprint’, always driving TBKART’s Rental Kart Line vehicles. After making its debut in style in 2023, the international finale of the TBKART karting season further consolidates its prominent position on the Rental scene. With the innovative double format presented at Ottobiano on the second weekend in July and animated by more than 90 riders entered in the sprint race (75 in the SK1 category and 16 in the Junior) and 25 crews entered in the endurance race, the second edition of ‘THE FINALS’ doubled the number of participants recorded at its debut. In addition to being characterised by a large turnout of pilots, the event saw as many as 15 nationalities represented, confirming its international status. These are the ideal prerequisites to give life to a unique show, ‘directed’ by the highly qualified staff fielded by TBKART and IRK Promotion, the department that organises and promotes a series of first-class competitions with the Rental Kart Line products conceived by the Italian company. The two fleets of karts specially developed for exclusive use in IRK Promotion events and meticulously calibrated for this international final once again lived up to expectations. On the strength of their versatility, the brand new TBKART R-ONE 4-strokes completed ‘THE FINAL Endurance’ without a hitch, tackling an exciting 8 hours. With only two kart changes at their disposal, each crew had to carefully manage their vehicles throughout the entire competition and thus the reliability of TBKART products emerged, which was also highlighted by the tried and tested TBKART RMAX 2-stroke in ‘THE FINAL Sprint’. The top-of-the-range model in the Rental TBKART world, which stands out for its high performance, thanks in part to its 23 hp 2-stroke Rotax Max engine, expressed all its qualities during a racing-style weekend. Taking advantage of a busy series of track sessions including free practice, qualifying, heats and finals, participants in the sprint race were able to enjoy unparalleled total driving time and a real racing experience. The organisation studied down to the smallest detail made it possible to adhere to an intense programme punctuated by various moments of sharing as well as action on the track, including the drivers’ parade, the prize-giving ceremonies and the buffet offered to all participants. The sporting and technical regulations applied to ensure maximum fairness also proved their effectiveness, supported by the extremely shrewd race management staff. The balance in the performance of the various vehicles thus generated a series of tight and exciting races. The NAC Team was the crew that best interpreted the R-ONE (a model designed specifically for endurance racing, lightened and upgraded compared to the traditional R25, the reference product in TBKART’s Rental line) to win ‘THE FINAL Endurance’ and secure one of the prestigious prizes in the highlight of the Rental by TBKART season: free participation in ‘THE 24’, a 24-hour endurance race that will also be held on the Ottobiano circuit over the weekend of 7-8 September. First place in the Junior class of ‘THE FINAL Sprint’ went to Francisco Alfaro Velasco, who thus won an official TBKART clothing kit, while Antoine Morlet triumphed in the overall classification of the SK1 category and earned himself free participation in a world-class racing competition. Morlet will be the successor to Dennis Höller (winner of the Vegas Final in last year’s edition) who will fly to Las Vegas to compete in the iconic SKUSA SuperNationals as an official TBKART driver via the ‘Arrive Drive’ formula. The second edition of ‘THE FINALS’ therefore ended on a more than positive note, marked by good weather and the novelty of the dual format, which was widely appreciated by the drivers, some of whom took part in both the sprint and endurance races. We will now proceed with the other events of the IRK Promotion season by TBKART, always with the aim of shortening the distance between the Racing and Rental worlds, making karting more accessible.
